Signup sheet at Social Justice table. -- Sorting donated food at AFFB, various days and times. --Mobile pantry and Sprout Mobile Farm Market, various days and locations. Organization that provides free clothing, children’s toys, household items, small appliances and furniture to families in need who are referred by various organizations. Drop off donations or volunteer Mon. Wed. Friday 10:00-1:00.
Bethesda House ---1670 4thSt. Sarasota, Fl. 34236. Community center sponsored by Catholic Charities providing support services for persons with HIV/AIDS and their families. Children First---serving vulnerable children birth to 5 yrs. old, and their families at 13 locations in Sarasota. Volunteers needed to assist with children (6wks-5yrs), special events & donations. Go to [email protected], or call 941-953-3877. Volunteers need to be finger-printed, and background checked, no fee.
Literacy Council of Sarasota---Volunteers needed to provide one-to-one adult tutoring one time /week at a public place agreeable to both parties. No previous teaching or tutoring experience required. Six hour training and $25 registration fee is required for volunteers. Contact [email protected], or 941-955-0421.
Mothers-Helping-Mothers --- [email protected] . Call Cheri, vol. Coord. at 714-349-6552 to volunteer, Tues. Wed. or Fri. 8:30-12:00 at 5933 N. Washington Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34243. Donations received there Tues. and Fridays 9-11:30 and first Sat. 9-11:30. Adult clothing, children’s clothing and toys, household items, are given out free to families in need.
Meals on Wheels – 421 N. Lime Ave. Sarasota Drivers needed… Monday – Friday (approx. hrs. 9:30am to 11:00) Kitchen help… 8:30-10:30am- Call 941-366-6693 to volunteer.
Resurrection House---507 Kumquat Ct. Sarasota, Fl 34236—resurrectionhousesarasota.org. Day Center for the Homeless. Volunteers needed for counseling, laundry, sizing and marking clothing, data entry, etc. Contact Joe Lucero at 941-365-3759 to volunteer.
Remnant Café –Serving meals, donated clothing and showering services to the homeless at 2895 Ashton Rd. Sarasota, fl. 34231 Mon, Wed. Fri. & Sat. Meal servers needed 9:30-4:00. Donate men’s casual clothing, especially jeans, women’s small sizes casual clothing, men and women’s underware, toiletries.

Tutors and homework assistance needed for elementary students living at Janie’s Garden, 2350 Central Ave. Sarasota 34234. 3:30 to 5:00pm any day/days Monday to Thursday.
