Community Ministers

Across the United States community ministers serve the cause of Unitarian Universalism in many ways. Some community ministers work independently or in an organization outside a congregation. Others attempt to bridge congregations and secular organizations. Still others serve part-time in a congregation, and work part-time in a community organization.

Here in Sarasota our Board has endorsed two community ministers. We are honored to have these ministers affiliated with our congregation.

The Rev. Brock Leach
Rev. Brock Leach is a Unitarian Universalist social justice minister. Most recently, Brock was vice-president of mission, strategy and innovation for the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) where he helped create and launch the UU College of Social Justice; Commit2Respond, a UU-wide campaign for Climate Justice; and UUSC Justice-Building, a new program to support congregations and activists in leading more effective justice work.  He also developed UUSC's Human Rights Impact Assessment System.   He is a member of the planning team for the Beyond the Call Entrepreneurial Ministry Program, an intensive education program for religious innovators created by the UUA and the UU Ministers Association.

The Rev. Dee Graham

The Rev. Dee Graham is the Consulting Minister of Manatee Unitarian Universalists Fellowship. A life-long resident of Manatee County, and a published author and journalist, Rev. Graham’s ministry is entrepreneurial in style with a special mission to serve the increasingly aging lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and queer families of the Gulf coast and Tampa Bay area.
