![]() After the Time for All Ages in the service, the children and youth will join their teachers in their classrooms for the lesson.
Elementary class: Susan B Anthony fights for Women's rights. The children will learn about Susan B Anthony and other Unitarian and Universalist women who helped change our laws to protect women and give them equal rights. The children will make fans for distribution at the Embracing our Differences lunch. Youth class: Engaged Buddhism: Pioneered by the Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hank in the 1970s, "Engaged Buddhism" brings a Buddhist perspective to the ongoing struggle for social and environmental justice in America. We may think we know why the United States became such a magnet for immigration, but few know or remember the role the US played in Central and Southern American politics. Those who wish to remember Donna Allman, and perhaps share a brief word about your relationship with her, are invited to gather in the Memorial Garden at noon as we inter her ashes.
