If you are interested in performing for services

The music committee is always seeking to expand the diversity of our musical offerings.  We book professional musicians with all types of backgrounds and experience. Please review the process and requirements for new musicians as follows and contact the music director.
These are the general requirements and guidelines for guest musicians, but are subject to change.
  • Guest musicians usually perform 3 pieces, each 3-4 minutes long.
  • You will be asked to choose music that will not conflict with the progressive UU philosophy.
  • We ask you to align your music choices as much as possible with the theme of the week.
    • We will work together to choose appropriate music.  If you can provide a list of your current repertoire that will be very useful. Singers may be asked to learn one new song but we are always willing to discuss and find appropriate repertoire that works for your style and the needs of the service.
  • You will need to be available for a 30-minute rehearsal an hour before the service.
  • Additional setup of any equipment you bring will need to take place before the call time.
  • Camera and sound=check will take place during the rehearsal.
  • You will agree to have our services streamed and archived on YouTube.
  • Services last around an hour. The entire time on Sunday is approximately 2 hours.
  • If you need piano accompaniment, Don is available to play.
    • Don has decades of experience playing classical, jazz, show, and pop styles and is a strong reader.
    • You must provide accompaniment in written form in the correct key,
    • Sheet music or lead sheets are acceptable.
  • You will need to be responsive to email an/or phone communications.
  • You will be asked to submit a W9.  We can provide a blank digital form.
