Upcoming Sundays
This Sunday, July 13:
Service at 10:30 am:
![]() Eastern philosopher and spiritual guru Baba Ram Dass teaches that loving awareness moves us from the ego to the soul while loving all beings unconditionally. In loving awareness, we accept our thoughts and feelings as a part of our human experience. We are a living witness – not here to judge or fix or even resist – but to witness, to be aware, to love. Recently, Rev. Culbert was blessed with the sacred task of being loving awareness for her friend in the last week of his life. She will share how this practice replaces worry and pain with peace and comfort when facing terminal illness, death and beautiful challenges of daily life.

Service at 10:30 am:
Crossing the Boundaries
In its focus on Jesus, the son of God as the path to life-everlasting, Christianity often fails to appreciate the truly revolutionary power found in the New Testament Gospels’ accounts of Jesus the man. Careful reading of them reveals numerous times and ways that Jesus crossed the boundaries that society set. His love reached across every boundary that diminished or thwarted the being of any person by labeling them “alien.” His crossing of boundaries was a demonstration of, and a call to oppose any attitudes or systems that distorted or diminished any life. The boundaries kept us from imagining what people or systems could be. Jesus’ crossing of boundaries was an invitation to live, to be, and to allow. His Crossing of Boundaries was an invitation of all to imagine what life could be. Sermon by Rev. Bill Morgan |
Rev. William M. Morgan Jr. served as a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in Montana, New Mexico, Texas, Missouri, and Georgia. In all his congregations, he focused on issues of justice–racial, ethnic, gender–and international peacemaking. In a second career, he taught courses in religion and ethics at universities in Georgia and Florida. His research focused on Ancient Israel and the impact of the surrounding ancient cultures on the development of the Hebrew Bible.
