April 5: 10:00 am and 11:30 am
Palm Sunday in a Post-
Harry Potter Universe
Sermon by Budd Friend-Jones
The great novelist, James Joyce, once said that his own existence was guided by three principles: exile, cunning and silence. On this Palm Sunday, can these three words describe Jesus and his ministry? As he rides a donkey into Jerusalem, can we think of him as a wizard? As one who inhabits not a different, but a larger, reality? Can we learn from Jesus-as-wizard what it might mean to affirm the full measure of our humanity?

Easter and Passover
for Unitarian Universalists
Sermon by Beth Miller
The Jewish and Christian high holy days of springtime have always been intertwined and harken back to Pagan celebrations predating them both. There are universal human themes here that resonate beyond the unique stories of particular people in specific times.
