Transition House Donations Needed
Donation drop off time: December 17th or by appointment

Transition House, a Social Justice is receiving a new family of three the week before Christmas. Our new family, currently homeless, is a working Dad and a 7- and 9-year-old girl and boy. Their Mom passed away two years ago. They need apartment-size household items – see list below. Volunteers are needed for transporting donations and assisting in the setup of Transition House on Tuesday, December 19th.
Please leave donations at the Social Justice Table on Sunday, December 17. Because of limited UU storage space we hope to limit the time period of storage.
If you can help, have questions or need to arrange a different drop off time, contact the Social Justice Committee/Sue at 941.757. 9578 (text or cell) or [email protected]. Please email Sue with the items you plan to donate. We’d like to avoid duplicates as much as possible.

- Bed frames and mattresses for two twin beds
- Pillows for two twin beds
- Blender
- Lamps (table and floor)
- 3 Bedroom dressers
- Mirrors
- Bath and hand towels
- Desks and chairs for children (smallish)
- Cleaning supplies: dish soap, hand soap, laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper
- Table top Christmas tree, Christmas treats (store purchased and sealed)
- Gift cards
- Queen size sofa-hide-a-bed
- Queen pillows and comforter
- Sheet sets for twin beds (2) and one queen bed
- Blankets for queen and twin beds
- Queen bed (mattress and frame)
- Recliner + Bean Bag Chair
- Dining table and chairs
- Entertainment Center, side tables
- 2 TVs
- Vacuum Cleaner/broom
- Dishware (plates, bowls, cups)
- All kitchen set-up including flatware/flatware tray; pots, pans, bowls, baking dishes
- Coffee Maker + Microwave + Toaster Oven
