Welcome to FreeThinkers Off-season Page

FreeThinkers' Mission: to present speakers and topics that appeal to those who want to open their minds to stimulating, thought-provoking information and ideas relevant to our society and others today.
FreeThinkers’ Goal: to inspire you, to enrich your lives, and to have you leave each event with a sense of empowerment and a better understanding of your world.
Series Schedule: the first Friday of the month, Jan through May, at 10 a.m., followed by a Q&A period. Occasional special events may be offered at other times.

Everyone is Welcome. Admission is free.

2017 turned out to be an exciting season for our audiences, who responded enthusiastically to our speakers and topics.

David Houle, Global Futurist, Co-Author of This Spaceship Earth, Co-Founder of ThisSpaceShipEarth.org spoke about “This Spaceship Earth”.

Sherry H. Penny, Author & Professor of Leadership in the College of Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston, Previous Chancellor of UMass Boston and interim president of the University of Massachusetts systems, spoke on “Still Stuck: Women in the 21st Century.”

James Livingston, Research Physicist, Author & Senior Lecturer Emeritus for the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT presented the scientific version of origin of life, paralleling it with the Genesis version.

Nancy Parris, Founder, Co-Chair & CEO of Protect Our Defenders (POD), shared with us the Military’s war on victims of sexual harassment and abuse and what POD is doing to support and protect victims, as well as to affect a change in the Military's policy toward such victims.

Tom Boeke, Professor in the Political Science department at State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota, enlightened us about ISIS, what it is, how it started, how it relates to al Qaeda, its goals and objectives.
