GETTING TO KNOW YOU
So much has occurred to change our lives this past year but it has not stopped our basic need for personal interactions. The UU Membership Committee has been considering ways to support and promote contact among our congregational members until we can see each other on campus again. So join us in our “Getting to Know You” program.
The program promotes one-on-one interactions online or by phone between members. It gives us a means to get to know each other that we often don’t have just by seeing each other on a Sunday.
For instance:
• What are your current hobbies and interest?
• What’s the one thing you’d like to get done today?
• What’s your favorite book and/or television show and why?
• Is there something about yourself you’d like to share?
• Is there something you’d like to know about me?
By using Zoom or other online programs, old-fashioned telephone, or a socially distanced walk around the park, these “Getting-to-Know-You” interactions can take place nearly anywhere in the world. Be adventurous and use our new Breeze Church Directory to reach out to someone you would like to know better. Still unsure and need help? Sign-up here and we can help you with an introductory email or pair you up with someone. Make a goal of meeting someone new once a month.
Plan on a 30 minute conversation but don’t be surprised if you talk more! We have so many interesting members from all kinds of backgrounds. Those who have used this program so far have loved it. So many meaningful conversations and many new friendships have been made!
