Rev. Dr. Rebecca Todd Peters, nationally regarded feminist and Christian social ethicist, will discuss her new book, Trust Women: A Progressive Christian Argument for Reproductive Justice (Beacon Press, 2018). Stephanie Fraim, the dynamic new CEO and President of Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida will talk to us about how the current administration’s regulations and court appointments impact reproductive and sexual health care and freedom in the country and the state of Florida. She’ll also explain what Planned Parenthood is doing to protect care for young people and get respectful, medically accurate information to the community. And, finally: what happens if the Supreme Court demolishes or overturns Roe v. Wade?
Stephanie Fraim
February 2019 will mark the first anniversary of Stephanie’s arrival in Sarasota. However, she’s not new to the Planned Parenthood family or the fight for social justice and safe health care for all. For more than 16 years she has been a leading voice on an executive level with affiliates from Ohio to California to Washington, D.C. She’s brought her bold ideas and mission dedication with her, and we’re seeing her signature style positively influencing our Sarasota health care community, as well as in 22 counties in Florida from Naples to Tampa to Orlando.
Our thanks go to the Florida Interfaith Coalition for Reproductive Health, Progress Florida and Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida for their support.
