Calling our authors
The annual Authors’ Showcase book sale and signing will be held this year in the Lexow Wing on Sunday, November 27, 2022 (The Sunday after Thanksgiving). Any UUCS member or friend who has authored a book and would like to participate in this annual event is welcome. We encourage books on a variety of subjects and genres – fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children’s books. The church receives 15% of the total sales collected for each book. The deadline for getting into the catalog and reserving a table space to display your book(s) is: November 18, 2022. AUTHOR’S INSTRUCTIONS:
Please submit the exact name of your book along with a description of the contents (one paragraph) to [email protected] AND cc [email protected] no later than noon November 18, 2022. Please attach a pdf file of the cover to be included in the catalog. (You can download one from your Amazon listing.)
On November 27th please arrive at the Lexow Room by 9:45 am so you will be able to offer your books for sale to members of the congregation beginning at 10:00 am and after the service. Please bring change and at least 5 copies of each book. Most people carry $20, so plan accordingly. You may also accept credit cards if you have the equipment. (15% of the proceeds go to the church.) Some authors decorate their table space, some offer business cards, etc.
Then enjoy meeting members of the congregation and talking about your book(s). Remember people are looking for gift ideas this time of year. Have fun with this opportunity!
