Welcome to our summer bicyclists. Our monthly bike rides continue this Friday, starting at 8 am because of the heat.
We meet at 4730 17th Street in the parking lot of the 17th Street Softball fields, marked with a red X in the picture below.

We begin by forging through the wild Sarasota hinterland to Gun Club Rd and back. At that point, we can pick up any late-coming stragglers, as we ride on past the doggie park (labeled 17th Street Park in the picture below) to 17th street, then west a couple of blocks to Longmeadow for a ride through The Meadows.
There are some easy paved paths, or, if we're up to it, some unpaved paths through wooded canopies, depending on the desires of the group. The whole trip is partially shaded.
After the ride, we take 17th Street east to Honore, then Honore south to the Publix Plaza at the northeast corner of Honore and Fruitville Road. Brunch is at EggTown in that plaza (5495 Fruitville Rd - click the link for the menu and pictures.)
Temperatures are forecast to be in the low 70's.
