Contemplative teacher Thomas Keating describes our ordinary thoughts as “boats sitting on a river, so closely packed together that we cannot see the river that’s holding them up.” The contemplative path helps us to direct our attention from the individual boats to the deep river on which they are resting. I invite you to join me in a 5 month program in which we will lean into our “spiritual hearts” and watch and listen for the spirit’s loving presence and movement in our individual lives and in the life of the Unitarian Universalists of Sarasota.
No prior spiritual practice experience needed, just an open heart and a willingness to commit to the journey.
